Answer: Proposal to manager to show the suggested team Why you choose the particular individuals: The individuals are chosen on the basis of their relevant experience in service communication and also on the basis of their strong personality traits in sync with the requirement of the job. The candidates were best out of the lot with a clear understanding and a great insight into customer service communication. They all had an experience of almost 3+ years which is in sync with the job eligibility and description. The candidate also showed a good aptitude with logical and reasoning skills. Information about the team members: All the team members are in the age range of 28-35, exactly what we were looking for, as the company is young and so is the workforce. The team members are from Australia, India, china The US, bringing diversity in the workforce, something which the company was looking forward to. The skills Experience they have: As mentioned above, all the team members have an experience of 3+ years, working in the service industry, and improving service communication for the customers. The employees were in hotel sector. The skill set they already have were: Great aptitude, understanding of service culture, communication presentation skills. Explain the team dynamics and how would you capitalize on roles responsibilities within the team: The team dynamics is fairly of team work, all the individuals have a good aptitude of working in cross functional teams and never faced any difficulty in doing so. In order to capitalize, team meeting have to be more productive, with extensive brainstorming sessions and getting more and more ideas on the table and then moving with the strategy to implement the same. Explain how you would Guide your team through the project: In order to guide the team, I will come up with setting SMART goals for them, specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound. These goals will help them in understanding the timelines of the project and their individual contribution in the same. Eventually leading to the project completion with supervision at equal intervals. Work collaboratively with them: In order to drive collaboration with the team, I will be sharing my feedback on a regular intervals and also making them understand if they are going wrong with the direction of the project. Regular meetings and openness in communication will be key element in ensuring it (Mohamad, Ibrahim Nekooie, 2014) Develop the new communication: I have already picked 5-6 case studies of big corporate giants working in the service sector and how they developed their communication plan and put to good use. Picking good points from it, learning from the mistakes they made and filling the lacunae identified by the team will lead to development of the communication plan. Promote an innovative approach: In businesses its very important to have innovative approach in solving problems. The same will be brought in the team by explaining them the importance of innovation and putting innovation in their Key rating areas in their performance appraisal. Some of the profound innovators like Steve jobs, Elon Musk would be used as the motivators to drive innovation in them. Highlight the potential challenges and the issues and ways in which you would overcome them Challenges in the way Cultural Barriers: The team members being from different nationality and coming from different cultures can potentially cause some cultural barriers among them, which if not resolved at the earliest could lead to decreased productivity and friction amongst them(Banana Shaik, 2016) Thought Process: People have different thought process, which make them think differently and work differently. This could be a potential threat in achieving the goals of the organization. Unequal participation: Some members have higher egos, stronger opinions, this makes the people with weaker opinions easily submit to the views of the stronger opinionated people, causing in unequal participation and not bringing out the best in them. Inherent conflict: In organization, sometimes it happens that team members develop a feeling of mutual hatred against each other due to any reason and this conflict result in a cold war which leads to ego issues, hatred and absence of team spirit. Longer process: Due to higher conflict of interest among themselves, sometimes it is a big possibility that the decision making takes longer time due to not reaching on the conclusion thus delaying the project and not sticking to the timelines. Ways to overcome the potential challenges: All the challenges above can be handled by focusing on 5 pillars of management and leadership. The pillars are: Openness in communication, Team building activities or team work spirit, 360 degree feedback system, recognition and appraisal of the team members and motivation. Openness in communication will ensure there are no hard feelings among the team members and would also do away with any kind of cultural conflicts, will also lead to better team meetings and brainstorming session, would also reduce the participation issues if the communication is open (Cao, 2015) Team building activities makes the employees connect with each other, also helps them in developing a feeling of oneness and warmth for the team members, thus doing away with ego and inherent conflicts. 360 degree feedback system is a peer to peer feedback system, which makes the individual understand their shortcoming and helps them to overcome them, making them more cautious and productive.
